FloodShield Aluminium Barrier – Permanent or Demountable Flood Protection

Overview

The FloodShield Aluminium Barrier System provides a premium solution for long-term or demountable flood protection. Constructed from high-strength 6063-T5 aluminium alloy, these barriers deliver excellent resistance to water pressure while remaining lightweight and easy to handle, making installation, deployment, and storage more straightforward than heavier alternatives.

Suitable for doorways, garages, shopfronts, driveways, and larger commercial openings, each system is custom measured to suit the specific opening it protects.

For reliable sealing performance, the system requires a solid surface such as concrete or asphalt that is generally level and free of significant variations. The compressible rubber seal can accommodate minor surface irregularities, but larger unevenness should be levelled or prepared prior to installation to ensure a watertight interface.

High Strength, Low Weight: Built from 6063-T5 aluminium alloy, offering excellent durability and corrosion resistance.
Modular Design: Panels slot securely into vertical columns, allowing flexible height adjustment in 200 mm increments.
Custom Fit: Every installation is tailored to your specific doorway, driveway, or wall opening for maximum performance.
Superior Sealing: Water-resistant strips on each panel and column ensure a tight seal, even under strong water pressure.
Easy Handling: Panels are light, stackable, and simple to remove or install as required.
Neat Finish: The slimline design integrates neatly into your building’s appearance without bulky permanent fittings.

FloodBloc Wall technology has been deployed in flood-prone communities throughout Europe, Asia, and Australasia. Used by councils, emergency responders, and thousands of property owners worldwide, these systems have proven reliable in real flood conditions for nearly a decade.

Each FloodShield system is either installed by Special Solutions Trade or supplied with clear installation and deployment instructions for self-installation.

Surface Preparation

Ensure the opening has a solid, stable surface (concrete or asphalt) that is generally level and free from debris or large irregularities. Although the rubber seal can accommodate small surface imperfections, significant unevenness should be addressed for reliable performance.

Install Columns & Base Plates

Side columns are fixed to structure with appropriate concrete or structural fasteners, with sealant behind and beneath for watertight performance. Internal posts are secured to steel base plates bolted to the ground surface.

Fit Panels

Aluminium panels slide between columns, stacking to the required protection height.

Secure & Compress

Top caps and compression bolts are tightened evenly to activate the sealing system and help establish a consistent seal to the ground.

Additional Bracing (when required)

For installations exceeding two panels in height, rear bracing is fitted at ~45° from columns to separate base plates to provide additional stability.

For wider openings such as larger garage entrances or driveways, removable internal posts may be included to support span and strength requirements.
