Warranty & Product Guarantee

At Special Solutions Trade, we stand behind the quality and performance of every flood protection product we supply. Our systems are designed and tested to meet international standards, providing reliable protection when it matters most.

Coverage

All flood systems are covered by a 12-month limited warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty applies to manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and installation conditions.

What’s Covered

• Structural defects in materials or manufacturing
• Faulty joints, welds, or seams under normal water pressure
• UV-related cracking or brittleness within the warranty period
• Premature failure of locking clips, seals, or valves caused by manufacturing fault

What’s Not Covered

• Damage caused by improper installation, misuse, or neglect
• Damage from sharp impact, machinery, or abrasive surfaces
• Chemical exposure or excessive heat beyond rated limits
• Normal wear and tear or cosmetic fading
• Use on unsuitable ground surfaces without preparation
• Flooding events exceeding the rated height or water pressure tolerance

Consumer Rights

This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (New Zealand). If a product is found to be defective during the warranty period, we will, at our discretion, repair, replace, or refund the product.

How to Make a Claim

To lodge a warranty claim, please contact us via email at allan@specialsolutionstrade.co.nz with the following details:
• Proof of purchase (invoice or receipt)
• Photos or video showing the issue
• Description of how the product was installed and used

Claims are reviewed within 5 working days, and a resolution will be offered once inspection and assessment are complete.

Important:
• Warranty period is 12 months from the date of purchase.
• Claims must be submitted within this period.
• Products must not be returned without prior written authorisation from Special Solutions Trade.
• Unauthorised returns may not be accepted or credited.

Installation & Maintenance Responsibilities

To maintain warranty validity, all products must be:
• Installed according to manufacturer recommendations
• Used on appropriate ground surfaces (see FloodBloc Wall™ ground compatibility)
• Cleaned, drained, and stored properly after each use
• Inspected regularly for wear, damage, or debris that could affect sealing performance

Installation by Third Parties

Special Solutions Trade products may be installed either by our own qualified team or by third-party installers engaged by the customer. Where installation is carried out by another contractor, the warranty covers the product only, not workmanship or installation-related issues.

The warranty remains valid only when:
• The product has been installed in accordance with Special Solutions Trade’s installation guidelines.
• No modification, drilling, or alteration has been made to the supplied components.
• The barrier has been installed on suitable ground surfaces as specified in the product documentation.

Any faults or failures resulting from incorrect installation, structural modification, or use of non-approved components will not be covered under this warranty.

Limit of Liability

Special Solutions Trade’s warranty covers the product itself only. It does not extend to any indirect or consequential loss, including property damage, contents, or loss of income resulting from the use or failure of the product.

Flood protection products are designed to reduce flood risk, not to guarantee complete prevention of water ingress. Customers are responsible for ensuring products are installed correctly and maintained as specified.

In the unlikely event that damage or injury is alleged to have resulted from defective workmanship or negligence by Special Solutions Trade, such claims may be managed under the company’s Broadform Liability insurance policy (Vero Insurance NZ Ltd, Policy BIP5471844), subject to its terms and limits of cover.

Product Guarantee Statement

Special Solutions Trade guarantees that our flood protection products have been manufactured under strict quality controls and tested to relevant ISO standards for tensile, flexural, and UV performance. We guarantee that when installed and maintained correctly, our products will perform as described and provide effective flood protection.
