Our Mission
To strengthen flood resilience across New Zealand by supporting property owners and organisations to prepare thoughtfully, using proven systems to help provide peace of mind when wet weather arrives.
About Special Solutions Trade
We provide practical, site-specific flood protection solutions across New Zealand.
As flood events become more frequent and unpredictable, many property owners are seeking protection that goes beyond temporary measures. We work with established international manufacturers to bring globally tested flood barrier systems to the New Zealand market, systems that have been performance-tested for strength, durability, and repeatable deployment.
Every property is different. Based on site details, measurements, and information, we recommend the most appropriate system, whether that involves custom-measured aluminium barriers, modular ABS wall systems, or inflatable flood tubes selected to suit the required length and protection height.
We supply nationwide and provide on-site installation across the Manawatū–Whanganui region, ensuring systems are correctly prepared and ready when needed.

The systems we supply have been developed and tested internationally in regions with established flood mitigation standards. They are built for structural strength, durability, and reliable deployment.
In New Zealand, we work directly with property owners and managers to assess site conditions and determine the most suitable system, whether that involves measuring and preparing aluminium barriers for a specific opening, configuring modular ABS systems, or selecting the appropriate length and diameter of inflatable tubes to match the level of protection required.

Feilding Rural Day Gumboot Relay
Special Solutions has proudly been behind the Feilding Rural Day Gumboot Relay since 2021.
Each year we bring the community together with children’s teams and business teams going head-to-head in relay races around the clocktower. Competitors tackle muddy, wet, and woolly obstacles from crawling through trailers of mud to climbing hay bales, dodging water sprays, and hurling gumboots all for bragging rights and the chance to hold one of the Gumboot Trophies.
For us, organising the relay is about giving back to Feilding, creating laughter, connection, and memories for tamariki, businesses, and whānau. We’re proud to stand behind this event and look forward to many more years of muddy fun!
