Special Solutions Trade is a New Zealand flood protection business providing practical, site-specific solutions for homes, businesses, councils and infrastructure.

We specialise in aluminium flood barriers, portable ABS flood barriers and inflatable flood barriers, with systems selected to suit the particular risks, dimensions and requirements of each site.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we work with customers to understand what they need to protect and recommend a suitable solution. This may involve custom-measured aluminium barriers for doors, driveways or larger openings, modular ABS barriers for rapidly deployable protection, or inflatable systems for longer areas and temporary flood defence.

We work with specialist international manufacturers to bring established flood protection systems to the New Zealand market, while providing local advice and support throughout the process.

Products can be supplied nationwide, with on-site installation available throughout the wider Manawatū–Whanganui region.

Feilding Rural Day Gumboot Relay

Special Solutions has proudly been behind the Feilding Rural Day Gumboot Relay since 2021.

Each year we bring the community together with children’s teams and business teams going head-to-head in relay races around the clocktower. Competitors tackle muddy, wet, and woolly obstacles from crawling through trailers of mud to climbing hay bales, dodging water sprays, and hurling gumboots all for bragging rights and the chance to hold one of the Gumboot Trophies.

For us, organising the relay is about giving back to Feilding, creating laughter, connection, and memories for tamariki, businesses, and whānau. We’re proud to stand behind this event and look forward to many more years of muddy fun!
