Practical Flood Protection Without Permanent Fixtures

FloodLine Series Pro is a portable inflatable flood barrier designed for fast deployment where floodwater may enter through doorways, garages, shopfronts, driveways and other short openings. The barrier is lightweight when empty, then filled with water on site so the weight of the contained water helps hold it in position.

Once the flood risk has passed, the barrier can be drained, cleaned, dried and stored for reuse. This provides a practical alternative to repeatedly preparing and disposing of traditional sandbags.

How It Works

The empty barrier is laid across the intended protection line and filled with water. As the tube fills, it develops the weight and shape required for deployment against shallow surface flooding and localised runoff. Correct placement, surface preparation and matching the barrier to the expected flood conditions are important to performance.

Construction

The Series Pro uses a 0.6 mm PVC construction. The yellow barrier is designed to remain compact for storage and handling when empty, while becoming substantially heavier and more stable once filled.

Series Pro Sizes

The Series Pro is available in one barrier profile, 254 mm wide × 152 mm high, with three length options.

SizeApprox. Water CapacityTypical Application
1830 × 254 × 152 mm49.2 LDoorways, smaller garage openings and localised entry points
3680 × 254 × 152 mm98.4 LWider garages, roller doors, driveways and shopfronts
7320 × 254 × 152 mm189.3 LLonger openings, wider accessways and short perimeter runs

Suitability depends on the site, expected water depth, flow, surface condition and the length of the opening being protected.

Where Series Pro Is Best Suited

  • Residential doorways and garage entrances
  • Shopfronts and roller doors
  • Driveways and short accessways
  • Small commercial and light-industrial openings
  • Areas where a portable system is preferred over permanent posts or channels

Ground & Surface Guidance

Series Pro performs best on firm, relatively level surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, pavers or compacted ground. Sharp objects, loose debris and anything that could puncture the barrier should be removed before deployment.

Deployment Overview

  1. Assess the flood path. Identify where water is expected to approach and select a barrier length that extends beyond the opening where practical.
  2. Prepare the surface. Remove sharp objects and debris and check the ground is suitable for the barrier.
  3. Position the barrier. Lay the empty tube along the required protection line.
  4. Fill with water. Fill the barrier in accordance with the supplied instructions while checking its position and ground contact.
  5. Monitor conditions. Flood conditions can change, so the barrier and surrounding area should be monitored where it is safe to do so.
  6. Drain and store. Once the flood risk has passed, drain, rinse, dry and store the barrier out of direct sunlight ready for future use.

Performance & Limitations

The Series Pro is designed for shallow surface flooding, localised overflow and low-to-moderate water flow, providing protection for water depths of up to approximately 150 mm.

It is not the right system for every flood risk. Deeper water, stronger flow, longer protection runs, steep or highly uneven ground, or larger commercial and infrastructure sites may require a heavier system such as FloodLine XL, a modular barrier or an aluminium flood barrier.

Choosing the Right Size

It is generally preferable to allow enough length for the barrier to extend beyond the vulnerable opening so water is not simply redirected around the ends. Before recommending a Series Pro size, we look at the opening width, expected flood direction, previous flood depth, surface condition and what is located immediately either side of the opening.

Supply & Support in New Zealand

Available throughout New Zealand. We can work through your measurements, photographs and known flood history to help determine whether Series Pro is suitable or whether another flood-protection system would be more appropriate.

Local site assistance is available within the wider Manawatū–Whanganui region, with other locations considered depending on the project.
